Niclas is from Sweden and lives in Stockholm.
He was born in 1969, broke his spine in an automobile accident in 1988 and currently uses a Panthera X.
"Hi. My name is Niclas and I’ve been in a wheelchair for 25 years after an automobile accident when I was 19. I’ve played professional wheelchair tennis on the national-team level for 22 years, have won several tournaments and have won a few World Championship team gold and bronze medals. My highest ranking was 11th on the world-ranking list. I took part in the Athens Paralympics in 2004.” He also played on the national basketball team for 6 years, won a European gold medal with the team and took part in the Beijing Paralympics in 2008.
Although his sporting days are over, he is a tennis commentator for Eurosport and is the coach of the national wheelchair tennis team. He also gives lectures about his life and the series, “Mot alla odds” (“Against all odds”), in which he took part in 2013. In addition, he works occasionally for the event management company Akazia on Bosön (Sweden) and volunteers his services as the Swedish ambassador for “Wings for life”.“I’ve had Panthera ever since I began using wheelchairs and have seen an incredible development of Panthera’s products. I currently use a Panthera X, which I wouldn’t trade for anything. It’s not only extremely light but is also very comfortable to sit in as well as being attractively designed. In and out of the car, it’s a dream as far as being easy on the shoulders, prolongs an injury-free life and in the long run, ones independence as well.”
